Currently, the OpenAI company does not support changing the email address associated with your ChatGPT account. Therefore, it is not possible to change the email address of your ChatGPT account. However, there is a method you can follow to use your ChatGPT account with a different email address.
How to change the email address of your ChatGPT account?
You cannot change the email address of your ChatGPT account. However, you can add new accounts to your existing ChatGPT account with different email addresses. Below, we have explained how you can add different members or memberships to your ChatGPT account.
1. Visit OpenAI’s Members page
First, go to OpenAI’s Members page at platform.openai.com/account/members. If you are not logged into your ChatGPT account at this address, please log in first.
On the opened window, you will see the members associated with this account. Click on the “Invite Members” option located at the upper right corner to add a new member.
2. Enter the information for the new account
When you click on the “Invite Member” option, the window that opens will present you with an email address field and a role dropdown.
Enter the email address of the person you want to grant access to this account and specify their role next to it.
Currently, you can choose from two different roles: Reader and Owner.
The Owner role can modify billing information, add new members while removing old ones, and manage members. The Reader role, on the other hand, can only perform standard requests and read data.
Don’t forget that you can enter multiple email addresses at once. All you need to do is separate different email addresses with commas.
After filling in the information, click the “Invite” button.
After clicking the “Invite” button, the Members page will display the status of the email address you invited. If the invitation has not been accepted yet, the status will appear as “Invite Pending.”
If you wish, you can also remove this account from the Members list by using the “Delete” button located to the right of the new email address on this page.
3. Check the email address of the newly added account
An invitation email will be sent to the email address you invited by OpenAI. From that email address, go to the invitation email and click the “Create Account” button in the email.
When you click the “Create Account” button, you will be directed to the screen where you create a ChatGPT account for the first time.
Here, using the new email address, you will need to create an account just like you would for a new ChatGPT account. This involves entering and verifying your email address, as well as entering and verifying your phone number.
Please remember that you can use one phone number to verify a maximum of two different ChatGPT accounts. If you have reached this limit, you will need a different phone number for verification.

By utilizing the method described above for adding new members, even though you cannot change the email address of your ChatGPT account, you can still grant access to this account to collaborators by adding them as members. This way, you can log in to your ChatGPT account with your different email addresses.
Can I delete my ChatGPT account?
Yes, it is possible to permanently delete your ChatGPT account. You can do this by going to the Settings option either on the desktop or in the mobile app, and then clicking on the “Delayed Account” button under Data Controls.
However, please remember that if you delete your account, you won’t be able to create a new account with the same email address and phone number due to OpenAI’s security policies.
Can I change the password of my account?
You can also change the password of your ChatGPT account if you wish. To do this, if you’re currently logged in, log out first. Then, go to the ChatGPT login page, enter your email address, and on the password entry screen, click the “Forgot Password” option at the bottom of the screen.
